This Swimsuit Model Is 61 Years Old – And She Absolutely Rocks It!

If you want to be a model you need to start at really young age. Especially the swimsuit models are very young. But Yazemeenah Rossi, a 61 years old is breaking the rules when it comes to young models, and she’s proving that you don’t have to be 20 to look amazing and to have a gorgeous body.

She’s a grandmother of two, but that hasn’t stopped her from entering on the modeling career women half her age could only dream of. Indeed, she didn’t even get her “big break” until she was 45.

The images you will see here are all part from a swimsuit campaign with a collaboration between online shop The Dreslyn and a lingerie house, Land of Women.

According to Brooke Taylor Corcia, founder of Dreslyn, the intention of the collection was to steer away from the usual hyper-sexualized representation of current swimwear lines.

Corcia told HuffPost she select Rossi as their model of choice because, “This is a woman who transmit health and vitality. She’s courageous, she’s a artist, she’s fearless. This line is all about being a person who’s well-lived and well-traveled and has intellect and courage, and allow that shine through.” What is it about the French-born, California-based model that maintain her looking so young and in need for the fashion industry?

Rossi says she doesn’t have the usual procedure as she calls “frustrating” diets. Instead, she believes harmony and training are the key to staying active and satisfied: “I never eat processed, frozen, microwaved or low-fat foods.

“I eat organic food most of the time, and serve it fresh every day. I eat mainly vegetables, fruits, nuts and some good-quality fish and meats.

“I always lived a more or less active lifestyle. Year after year I’ve sophisticated my experience of what’s good for me and what’s not. But  satisfaction is what makes you glow, not just the healthy food you place in your body.”

“I exercise every day. I’ve trained yoga for more than 30 years and I’ll use between 30 minutes and an hour doing it each day.”

Rossi also tries to walk for between 15 to 45 minutes a day: “In the summer I like to walk in the water on the beach, and I hike in nature all year round.”
